Despite some difficult growing conditions recently, much foraging in allotments and gardens together with activities in kitchens and workshops produced yet another successful show.

There were 65 classes in competitions with something for everyone to try for, including best fruit and vegetable classes, painting, tapestry, decorated hats, photography and cut flowers. The village hall was filled with colourfully laden tables groaning with produce. Children's catergories included a collage on the life-cycle, and pictures of the seaside, space and landscapes as well as a catagory for the best decorated spoon. The open floral exhibits competition included a prize forthe best Football World Cup Themed entry.

• Pat Broomhead for the Cracroft Challenge Cup for the best flower other than roses.

• Margaret Harding- The Flower Arranger Trophy.
• Lillian Brown- The Cookery & Home Produce Trophy.
• Audrey Hayward - The Mallinson Cup for handicraft.
• Jean Langdon - for the Photography Cup.
• Jill Spinney- The Millennium Trophy for the best art exhibit.

  He said he thought it was a very good show, adding that it was "one of the best in the area"
